Sports betting at SportPesa Tanzania, from markets to settlement
Football leads the board, from the Premier League and CAF competitions down to third divisions, with ten more sports behind it. You can bet by website, app or a plain SMS to 15888. This page explains the markets, the cash-out fence and the settlement rules that decide your ticket.
Coverage
Football first, then ten more sports
The football board runs from the Premier League, CAF competitions and UEFA tournaments down to the third divisions of Norway and Lithuania, with every fixture carrying a game ID and kick-off time. In-play betting runs alongside the pre-match board, but there is no live streaming, so you follow scores on the scoreboard rather than a video feed.
Behind football, the brand's Tanzanian blog lists basketball, boxing, cricket, Formula 1, handball, ice hockey, MMA, rugby, tennis and netball. That list dates from 2021 and the operator adds sports over time, so treat it as a floor rather than a ceiling.

Bet types
Singles, multis and the markets between them
A single bet is one prediction at one stake; the return is the odds multiplied by the stake, so TZS 500 at odds of 2.36 pays TZS 1,180. Singles are the only bet type where one result decides everything.
Two or more picks become a multi automatically. The odds multiply through the slip: 1.35 × 1.75 × 2.00 returns 4.72 times the stake, but every pick must win, and the slip can hold up to twenty selections. The multibet bonus that applies to winning accumulators is priced on the promotions page.
Market names hide a few traps worth learning before you stake:
| Market | What it really means |
|---|---|
| Full time | 90 minutes plus stoppage time; extra time and penalties never count |
| Over/Under 2.5 | Over wins at three or more goals; under wins at 0, 1 or 2 |
| Both teams to score | Each side must score at least once within full time |
| Odd/Even | Total goals odd or even; a goalless draw settles as EVEN |
| Double Chance | Two of the three outcomes in one bet: 1X, X2 or 12 |
| Correct Score | Exact goals per side; own goals count for the team they favour |
| Asian quarter lines | The stake splits in two, so half-win and half-lose outcomes exist |
SMS betting
Placing and cancelling bets by text message
A single bet by SMS is the game ID, your prediction and the stake, sent to 15888. The prediction codes are 1 for a home win, X for a draw and 2 for an away win, so 6981#1#2000 stakes TZS 2,000 on the home side in game 6981. A confirmation text comes back with your bet ID and the possible win.
6981#1#2000A multi strings games together before the stake: 1234#2#4534#1#7180#1#135 covers three games for TZS 135. The confirmation message lists every leg, so check it before the first kick-off.
1234#2#4534#1#7180#1#135Misclicked? You have ten minutes. Text the word cancel, a hash and the bet ID to 15888 within ten minutes of placing, always before kick-off, and the stake returns to your balance. This rescue covers website bets too: the site itself has no cancel button, but the SMS channel cancels any bet from your registered number.

Where cash out works, and where it never does
Cash out closes a bet early for the amount offered on your bet history page, and once taken, the bet is settled regardless of how the matches end. It is a settlement, not an edit.
The fence around it is tighter than the marketing suggests. Cash out applies to football multi bets only, on pre-match odds only, and on three-way 1X2 markets only:
| Slip type | Cash out |
|---|---|
| Football multi, pre-match, 1X2 legs | Available |
| Any single bet | Never available |
| Slip containing a losing selection | Never available |
| Selection with no current odds | Never available |
| Non-football or in-play slips | Outside the rules |
Settlement
Voided matches, added time and Tanzanian results
When a match is postponed or abandoned, a single bet on it settles as won at odds of 1.00, which simply returns the stake. Inside a multi, the affected leg drops to 1.00 and the slip recalculates without it. The company may also cancel affected bets within 72 hours of the disruption.
Bets on Tanzanian matches settle on the official statistics of the sport's governing body, so football results come from the Tanzania Football Federation, obvious errors excepted. Added-time goals count toward full-time markets; extra time and penalty shoot-outs never do.
The weekly jackpot settles the same way, with one softener: 10, 11 or 12 correct picks out of 13 earn a discretionary consolation bonus, divided equally inside each class. Entry pricing, the prize-giving ceremony and the seven-day claim window sit on the promotions page.
